Nyepi Day Notice

Nyepi – is also known as Bali Day of Silence, is a sacred Balinese Hindu celebration marking the Saka New Year. Unlike other New Year festivities, Nyepi is a Day of Silence, fasting and self-reflection, falls on the day following of the dark moon and opens a new year of the Saka Hindu Calendar. The entire island comes to a standstill – no travel, no works, no lights, no entertainment - allowing nature and the soul to rest. In this year, New Caka Year 1948 will fall on Thursday, 19 March 2026. For further information please click here.
